Customer Service & Shipping
At Deakin, we work hard to keep our Vancouver store and warehouse fully stocked to ship most orders the same or next business day. If an item is temporarily out of stock, we’ll reach out via email or phone to confirm the projected ship date of your order.
All prices on our website are in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Shipping Options
Choose the shipping method that works best for you at checkout:
• Standard Shipping: Average transit time via Canada Post Expedited service to most Canadian ship-to address is 1-10 days, USA 5-14 days, International 14+ days.
• Priority Service: Faster delivery via Canada Post Xpresspost service or Purolator Express in Canada is 1-4 days, DHL Courier to most USA ship to addresses: 2-7 days, International 5-7 days.
• Free Pick-Up: Available at our Vancouver warehouse store. You will receive a confirmation email (usually within one business day) as soon as your order is ready for pick up.
Please note:
**The shipping times above are just estimates. Shipping times can vary depending on weather and other circumstances beyond our control.
Purolator Courier will attempt to deliver your order to your ship to address and if cannot be delivered, they will contact you and hold your package for five (5) business days before returning it back to us.
Canada Post will attempt to deliver your order to your ship to address and if cannot be delivered, they will leave a pickup card and hold your package for fifteen (15) business days before returning it back to us.
*The customer is responsible for all shipping costs, including delivery and return shipping charges.
Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of your package. For "Bulky oversized or overweight items", a $300 shipping charge will be pre-authorized on your order. We will email you a shipping quote for your approval before processing your order and payment.
If you prefer to use your own carrier or have any questions, please email us at info@deakin.com or give us a call during our business hours prior to submitting you order. **You can also share/email us your "Wishlist" with any special instructions and we will confirm the availability of all the items and a shipping quote based on the ship to address you include. We're always happy to help!
Order & Payment Policies
• Minimum Order Amounts (excluding shipping and taxes):
• Canada: $20 CAD
• USA: $50 CAD
• International: $100 CAD
• Pricing: All prices are in Canadian Dollars CAD and subject to change without prior notice. In the rare case of a pricing error (e.g., due to typographical or supplier issues), we’ll notify you immediately, cancel the order if needed, and offer the chance to repurchase at the correct price.
USA & International Orders: Customers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees.
Returns & Exchanges
We want you to love your purchase! If you need to return or exchange an item, here’s how it works:
• Non-Defective Returns:
• Returns for credit or exchange are accepted within 14 days of purchase with a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number.
• To request an RMA, please email us your order number and information to: online@deakin.com. (RMAs are valid for 10 business days).
• Items must be in new, resalable condition with original, unmarked packaging. Include the RMA number on the shipping label and a copy of the invoice.
• Non-Returnable Items: Opened accessories, software, special order items, electronic charts, and GPS/Iridium devices with unsealed or marked packaging cannot be returned unless defective.
• Shipping and handling fees are non-refundable unless we shipped the wrong item.
• Refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the return and credited to the original payment method.
• Defective Items:
• Within 30 days of shipment, we offer two options:
1. Free Replacement: Return the defective item, and we’ll ship a replacement at no charge via standard shipping (Canada Post or our chosen courier).
2. Advance Replacement: We’ll ship a replacement and charge your card, refunding the charge once we receive the defective item. Defective software can only be exchanged for the same title.
• You cover return shipping costs; we pay for standard shipping of the replacement. Want faster shipping? You can pay the difference for an upgraded method.
• After 30 days, the manufacturer’s warranty applies.
• Important: Do not mark or damage products, boxes, or packaging, as this will void the return.

FAQ
Q: How long will it take for my order to arrive?
A: In Canada, Standard Shipping takes about 7 days, and Priority Service takes 2 days. In the USA, expect 4 days via air. International shipping times vary—we’ll provide a quote and estimated delivery time before processing.
Q: Can I use my own shipping carrier?
A: Yes! You can simply choose the regular Canada Post Expedited shipping option and include an order note with your carrier name and account number. We will then edit your order and remove the shipping charge prior to processing your order payment. You can also contact our online customer service by emailing online@deakin.com before placing your order to arrange it.
Q: What if I need to return an item?
A: For non-defective items, request an RMA within 14 days by calling or emailing online@deakin.com. Items must be new, unopened, and in original packaging. Some items (e.g., opened software, special orders) are non-returnable unless defective.
Q: What if my item is defective?
A: Within 30 days of receiving your item and if the item is not damaged or miss used, we will arrange a replacement unit for you. Please email us at online@deakin.com to start the process.
Q: Why was my order canceled?
A: If a product is mispriced due to an error, we may cancel the order and notify you promptly. You’ll have the option to repurchase at the correct price.
Q: Who pays for international duties and taxes?
A: International customers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees. We’ll provide a shipping quote before processing your order.
